PROJECTILE LAUNCHER
For our final project in my Intro to Engineering class, we were tasked with making a
projectile launcher that could adjust its angle electronically. We opted to design a
goldfish launcher that would shoot a goldfish out of a tube. The launch mechanism we
opted for was a spring which we would compress by pulling back on a handle that would
function as the cocking mechanism. We opted to change the angle electronically by
supergluing the tube to a motor and programing the motor to change angles at 15 or 30
degrees. Finally, we attached the motor and the tube to a wooden apparatus made in
our machine shop to keep the tube steady while it shoots. This project taught me how to
use various machines, how to go through the engineering design process, and how to
work effectively as a team.
